Aslıhan Özcan is a psychotherapist and art therapist. She combines her passion for art and healing in art therapy. She shares insights from her “Colors of the Hospital,” a project that provides psychosocial support through art therapy to pediatric cancer patients bringing colors to their lives.

About Aslıhan Özcan
Aslihan Özcan is a psychotherapist and art therapist.
She double majored in Sociology and Psychology at Koc University. In 2008, she got her Master of Arts degree on Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy at Lesley University. She got her Licensed Professional Counselor Associate degree on 2009. Aslıhan worked with children and adults in various hospitals in Boston, Louisville and Istanbul. She gained significant experience on health psychology, physical trauma and mental illness. At Kosair Children’s Hospital, she conducted an art therapy research to explore the effects of art therapy interventions on Pediatric Asthma Patients. After moving back to her home country, Aslıhan continued to work in hospitals, using art therapy as a communication tool. She gave lectures on art therapy at different universities, hospitals and international conferences. She also started a project to provide psychological support to Pediatric Oncology and Hematology patients in three state hospitals through art therapy. After working at American Hospital for 3 years, currently Aslıhan is working at Koc University Hospital.
