Elena Pallotta, born from a German mother and Italian father, raised in Florence, she holds a degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.She shares her journey from a “dream job” in Italy to an ice cream entrepreneur in Istanbul.

About Elena Pallotta
She started her career as a consultant in Arthur Andersen participating to the establishment of the new-born Supply Chain division.
After the MBA she joined the Boston Consulting Group where she focused mainly on Pro Bono projects, becoming the main reference person for the redesign of the World Food Programme’s; very complex supply chain to increase speed of reaction in case of emergencies, and establishing a foundation in Florence for the organization of art exhibitions. Moving back to Florence, her hometown, in 2007 she joined RDM, a Real Estate Development company, as Director of Development.
At the end of 2010, seeing her 40th birthday on the horizon, after talking about the desire to become an entrepreneur ever since, she felt the urge to start her own business. Beginning of May 2011 she moved to Turkey where she had seen a business opportunity. In mid-July 2011 she opened her first gelato (Italian ice cream) shop in Yeniköy, called MUA’ like the sound of a kiss. At the moment she is coordinating the opening of the next 3 shops for 2012."
