From Life to Nature, From Nature to Life.
“Once upon a time, there was a life in which nature was more harmonies, people used to live accordance with himself and nature just before a world order in which the population of human being was ever-increasing , the natural reserves and resources was decreasing and ecological matters were continuously mounting.
We, as the ones who are interested in different fields of the art current period, are in the belief of reintegration with our roots by transforming our communication with nature into a relationship and based with love and respect, with the help of universal support of music and art, and also remembering our bond with each other.”
Fungistanbul, founded in 2014 in Istanbul, took place at the digital platform with the first works called phenology in March 2016. Fungistanbul which is a nature, art and life project is also name of the musical group. Phenology which deals with natural life circle of plants and animals is inspiration for name of the band’s first album.
The album of phenology contains music about the subjects of “human –beings’ common heritage: Antique cities”, “global warming and corruption of ecological balance”, “ the story of water which is heart of the life”, “ the phenology and the charging circle of nature”, “ the bondage of living beings”, “ the untying force of rhythm”, “the universality in tradition”, “ the extraordinary story of fungis”. The seven of ten songs in the album is made up authentic musical compositions and the rest is made up of Turkoman, Kurdish and Armenian anonymous songs.
Phenology album that is first step of Fungistanbul which is project of nature, art and life, is the product of 15 month working.
In this project, in which the solidarity and the interactivity between visual and auditorical arts are emphasized, nine child adult or professional artist took part in question voluntarily via allowing their works that they made for music in the album to be used in concerts, events and album demonstration.
Additionally amateur and professional photographers and director of photographers have contributed in the project called Fungistanbul for various visual and auditorical images that have been prepared.
We thank everybody who stands with us in that journey which we made the mysterious world of nature that awaits to be discovered.
