Joy E. Stocke shares with us her memoirs which will soon be published, "Anatolian Days & Nights: A Love Affair with Turkey, Land of Dervishes, Goddesses and Saints," co-written with Angie Brenner.
About Joy E. Stocke
Joy E. Stocke has been traveling to and writing about Turkey and the eastern Aegean since 1982. Her quest to discover the roots of Western religion has brought her to all of Turkey's borders.
She is the author of a novel and collection of poems, and has published numerous articles, short stories, and interviews with noted writers including Orhan Pamuk and Elif Shafak.
From 1999 - 2005, she wrote regularly Op-Ed columns about Turkey and Turkish politics for the Philadelphia Inquirer. In March 2012, her memoir, Anatolian Days & Nights: A Love Affair with Turkey, Land of Dervishes, Goddesses and Saints, co-written with Angie Brenner, will be published by Wild River Books. In addition, in 2012, her essay on Turkish Cuisine in America will be published in the Oxford Encyclopedia of Food.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, Stocke has more than twenty years of experience as an editor and publisher, and is the founder of the online magazine, Wild River Review, which seeks to raise awareness and compassion as well as inspire engagement through the power of stories. She is a founding partner of Wild River Consulting and Publishing, home of Wild River Books.
