Mosque of The Prince http://bit.ly/sehzade-mosq
In 1544-1548, Suleyman the Magnificent had the architect Sinan build this mosque as an expia-tory monument, in the honour of the crown prince Mehmet, who was killed upon his order.
The Mosque of the Prince was the first grand mosque built in 1539 in Istanbul by Sinan, who was appointed Chief of the Architects. He called it his “apprentice work“.
