"Mouse in Manhattan" (fragment), is a 1945 one-reel animated cartoon and is the 19th Tom and Jerry short released in American theaters on July 7, 1945 and reissued in 1953. It is one of the few episodes that only one of the duo plays a major role. The episode tells the story of Jerry travel in Manhattan.
Interesting facts:
Popularity Jerry has forced the creators create release dedicated to only a little mouse. Instead chase the mood episode conveys music (written by Scott Bradley), based on the melodies "Manhattan Serenade" and "Broadway Rhythm".
The episode is partly based on Aesop's fable "Field Mouse and City Mouse".
The scene in which Jerry falls from the candles, is a reference to the film "Finally, in security".
On some posters can see the inscription "Tom & Jerry Cartoon", that is a reference to all personnel of the animated MGM.
On Cartoon Network and Boomerang, the scene of Jerry's head being used to polish a black shoe cuts off before the viewer can see Jerry in blackface.
